Primary Job Responsibilities
We are looking for outstanding web development software engineers with a strong command of JAVA for projects in a cloud environment to help lead the ongoing design and development of (client’s) open commerce platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of relevant web client programming technologies, web protocols and design patterns. Exceptional problem solving abilities will be critical for success as will be a focus on quality.  In our environment, quality is everyone's responsibility, passion is key, innovation and creativity is encouraged.  The successful candidate will participate in the entire life cycle of a product ranging from architecture through testing and live support.
The successful candidate will:
- Work with architects and product teams to define requirements and approach
- Drive both high-level and detailed technical design documents and conduct design reviews
- Provide technical guidance to other software engineers
- Show strong passion for learning and adapting new technologies
- Participate actively in team and companywide design discussions
- Develop unit and system level tests within an automation frameworks
- Adhere to release/project schedule and milestones
- Demonstrate total ownership of a product from inception to end of life

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area is required and an advanced technical degree is preferred
- Solid understanding of web development standards
- Expert level HTML, Javascript, CSS, AJAX, web2.0 skills are required with demonstrated ability to design rich UI interfaces
- Ability to demonstrate semantic HTML and unobstrusive, accessible coding practices
- Experience creating markups/CSS without using tools
- Experience using javascript libraries like YUI is preferred
- Experience with PHP and related frameworks like Zend or CodeIgniter
- Strong skills in web design, web front-tiers, building web sites with expert knowledge of cross-browser capabilities and coding techniques
- Experience building international web sites and a solid understanding of localization best practices
- Highly competent with User Interfaces and intricacies of complex web site designs
- Experience building production quality web presentation tier using PHP preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required due to dynamic nature of team discussions
- Knowledge of QA automation processes and tools
- Ability to self-organize and work effectively within a small team with minimal supervision
- Working experience in a cloud environment is preferred
- Familiarity with Subversion, Eclipse and the Atlassian suite of products (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Fish-eye) is desirable
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum is strongly desired
- Familiarity with on-line commerce applications such as Magento is a plus
- Programming knowledge of Java, Python or Ruby/Rails is a plus
